WARFRAME’S ‘THE NEW WAR’ NOMINATED FOR BEST MUSIC AND SOUND DESIGN IN THE 26TH ANNUAL WEBBY AWARDS

LONDON, Ontario - April 13, 2022 - Digital Extremes’ popular online sci-fi action game Warframe has been nominated for Best Music and Sound Design in the Games category of the 26th annual Webby Awards. The Canadian developer has been honored with a nomination for its work on the critically acclaimed expansion, The New War, released on all platforms in December 2021. In addition to being recognized for its sound design created by Digital Extremes’ audio team led by Audio Director and Composer George Spanos for The New War, the online action game is honored for its work on the original song ‘For Narmer,’ created by Keith Power. The wildly popular song has been viewed more than 1 million times on YouTube since its release in December and is now available on major streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music where it has been enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of listeners and fans around the world.

“Nominees like Warframe are setting the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet,” said Claire Graves, President of The Webby Awards. “It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the 13,500 entries we received this year.”

Warframe is no stranger in creating award-winning soundscapes. In 2019, Warframe took home a People’s Voice Webby Award for Best Music and Sound Design from a competitive group of nominees which included indie hits Florence and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. Warframe took home a People’s Voice Webby Award for Best Action Game that same year.
