Who Let the Dogs In?
Running a games-as-as-service title like Warframe is no doubt one of the coolest and most fun things a person can do — aside from, say, building a rocket ship that can travel through the sun or inventing a cure for cancer. The pace is tremendously fast, nerves can fray, and sometimes we just need a way to chill. That’s why, when St. John’s Ambulance comes to visit with their sweet, loveable dogs, it’s one of our favorite times of the year.
A pack of certified, officially lovely, cute, and very pettable dogs visited the Digital Extremes offices Wednesday, May 16, to give everyone a chance to visit and pet them.
Does this seem strange? Do dogs really make a difference in the life of a busy Digital Extremes employee? According to St. John’s site, yes. “Studies have shown that holding or petting an animal helps lower blood pressure, release strains and tension, as well as ease feelings of loneliness and depression. A dog can give comfort that sometimes no words can offer. They provide more than just a warm furry body; many dogs instinctively understand when some needs comfort and offer it unconditionally - without judgment and without obligation.”
We agreed, 100%.
All of St. John’s dogs are fully licensed, vaccinated, insured and are all certified as St. John Therapy dogs. They are also incredibly sweet. One DE employee was overheard saying, “I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole DE career.”
