Brutal Difficulty Problem with the Achievement

Hi there.
I've been completed the game on normal difficulty then started over again on brutal for the achievementbut now that i'm on chap.8 i found out that all chaps from 1 to 5 are marked as completed on brutal but the remaining 6 and 7 are still unmarked, though i have completed them.
More over to this, if i try restarting a chap unmarked, i have NO difficulty setting to change to brutal, so my run for the achievement is broken.
This means - as i understand - that i have to run the whole game from scratch, so i'm very pi**ed off.
Can you give me some workaround that fixes the problem?
Or will i just sell my game?

When you choose a chapter to load you don't get a difficulty selection, it loads whatever difficulty that chapter is marked for. So if it says Brutal, when you load the Chapter it will be on Brutal, but if it's not marked it will be on normal.

You just have to start from Chapter 5 again, it sucks, but it's better than doing the whole game again =P.

Ok, thx for the tip. It's a hard pill to swallow, but not the worst thing, btw.
I'll try to restart from chapter 5, if i'm not too bothered by this thing.
Too bad there's no fix online for the issues that spoil the game. As usual, they'll come when will be too late.
Time a week and i'll be selling it out at some local store.

I have the exact same bug. I say it's a bug because there are several people on the GameFAQs forum that say they have the same thing.

I restarted from chapter 6 on and still it doesn't show I beat 6-10 on Brutal. I restarted from scratch, played through 6, and only 1-5 show Brutal.

This has to be patched. This is ridiculous. It's tough to talk this game up when they keep referencing floating dead guys and glitchy ragdoll animations and now I'm stuck because of a bug.

This is not necessarily true - I've just completed Chapter 1, and auto-saved at the beginning of Chapter 2. Quit to the menu and checked the Load Game screen - for me it shows both Chapters 1 AND 2 with Brutal - I assume this is because the game is not complete as Brutal, but if you choose to load, it will be on Brutal difficulty. If you choose to load the last chapter marked as Brutal and continue from there, subsequent chapters will be on this difficulty as well.

I hope this helps those having trouble with the achievement.

That sucks. I had similar problems on a bunch of other games. I lost my ranking, weapons, and progression on Rainbow Six Vegas 2. It took me 4ever to get to my rank and I lost it because my hard drive deleted it. It also happened to me on Gears of War 2. In the first week I bought Gears of War 2 I had beaten it on Insane and I had 50,000 kills then it was all deleted. Oh well, good luck to you with your Dark Sector problem!:D
