Well, I recently downloaded BRAID off Xbox Live... if you really want to feel completely inept, stupid, and moronic, give this game a try. It is THE most difficult puzzle based game I have ever played, without question.
Other than that, I've been playing Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2, Kane & Lynch, Siren: Blood Curse... and, of course, Dark Sector.

i have been playing assassins creed, soulcaliber iV and a game alled chromehounds (its a giant robot, mech like game).
assassins creed was amazing, just my kinda game. SC4 is ok, i like SC2 better. chrome hounds is one of those unsung heroes, its a good but not great game that no one has heard of
ATC 1982
08-28-2008, 05:43 AM
I have heard of Chrome Hounds, but I heard it is only fun in groups. After picking up Castle Crashers yesterday I have the Multi-player urge right now. I think it is a cross between Hack/Slash and RPG.
michaelab
08-29-2008, 04:51 AM
chrome hounds is a mech game, but more realistic, you have the basic ballistics, missiles and bullest, and variations thereof. there are no jets, which is a bummer, and you have more of a baeomoth gait, instead of the "float like butterfly sting like bee" aspect of armored core
every piece of technology in the game can be seen today, except the best mech suit we have cant step off curbs without falling

But other than that Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne on Hard, Medal of Honor Airborne on Expert (hardest setting), and since the Red Faction 3 beta ended today, not much else.

I've really wanted to give Sacred 2 a go, since I'm a huge fan of the first. However, my PC isn't strong enough to run it, sadly, so I've been waiting for a chance to pick up the console version. Let me know how it is.

Sacred 2 thoughts:
There is A LOT to explore in this game. I enjoy it since it is a top down game. Also the 360 version of this game is better then the PC version from what I been told. Just to give you a scale I am only 10 hours into this game, but only have explored 4.3 % of the map. Also if you plan on buying this have 240 MS points ready. Go to the market place and purchase the IMP DLC as he will be most helpful and a great value to you even if you rent the game to beat it. All I can really say is explore explore explore.

Just got The Last Remnant last week. It's not a new game by any stretch, but wow am I hooked. I was itching to play an old fashioned(FF1 is my old fashioned) turn based RPG. Picked this up since it seemed to have more of what I wanted over the other RPGs like it that are currently out there. I must say I'm severely satisfied with my decision.
I heard complaints about the multiple discs, but really you only change the discs once after a certain part in the story to continue.
I did read up on some of the improvements to the PC version that I wish were in the console version. It would have made party customization much easier.
Still, this is an extremely fun game. (Long time RPG fan talking here ;))

I had a few friends say that Endwar wasn't all that good. Concept was neat but the game itself fell sort of short. Not sure myself though, but they seem to play those types of games all the time so they'd probably know better than I.

I had high hopes for this game, but apparently the developers are banking on the multiplayer aspects alone.

I sort of got sucked into Fable 2 recently even though I swore I wasn't going to play it cause I thought it looked too much like the first one. Then they offered the game in those episodes on the XBL marketplace. First one was free, but you pay for the rest.(sound familiar) Sure enough I got hooked when I finished playing that first episode. Turned out to be $40 total so I figured it was a decent enough buy.

Everyone seems to be playing Borderlands lately. Guess I'll have to add it to my renewed GameFly account GameQ. :D
Speaking of which I just played Afro Samurai and L4D. I'll probably keep L4D since a bunch of my friends have been bugging me to get it forever.

Yeah, I played through one campaign on L4D and it's really no fun without others to play it together. I doubt I'll get L4D2 when it comes out, but perhaps after the new year is up.
I ended up just buying Borderlands. It is awesome. :D So glad I just went and bought it instead of waiting for it through the mail.

You two and your silly PS3s. Don't you know that 360 is where it's at and always will be...:p
In any case, I've since played Boderlands with a group of four with my level 50 soldier character. All I can say is holy crap. It's so much tougher with four level 50 characters especially after you've all beaten the 2nd playthrough. But like the game says, more players = tougher enemies = better loot. :D

Awesome game in my opinion. I know it's borrowed just about everything in it from other games and outside sources, but it was put together in a super awesome way. So fun and I can't wait for a sequel.
I did just buy(total mistake) Army of Two: The 40th Day. Played it and by my standards it's worse than the first one. I think they took some of the meat when they trimmed most of the fat from the first game while making this one. Some nice new instruments for playing co-op with the AI, but it also seems like the AI is 'dumber' this time around. A lot of little glitches that interfered with commands to your virtual partner in the game. The good news is most of those glitches can be fixed by playing the game with a real live co-op partner.
Other than that the game felt too short. Playing on Casual and taking my time it still took 15-18 hours to complete, but it felt like a lot less story-wise.

I almost bought Army of Two: The 40th Day, but opted for The Saboteur instead. Anyway, I just got back from 4 weeks vacation, was sick nearly the entire time, so finished lots of games that have been accumulating, including:
BOURNE CONSPIRACY
TURNING POINT: FALL OF LIBERTY
CONDEMNED 2
CALL OF DUTY: WAW
CALL OF DUTY: MW2
BROTHERS IN ARMS
Not sure what to play next. I have DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS, DARKSIDERS and THE SABOTEUR still in their original wrapping. Any suggestions where I should start?

Good call on not buying Army of Two. I'd shoot for Darksiders first. It's not excessivly long, but you can have tons of fun playing it. Might want to take on Saboteur next. I haven't played it, and I've heard mixed reviews. Still, if you ever want to get those two done, don't play Dragon Age: Origins until you're finished with the others. If you're big into RPGs, DA:O will envelope you completely. There is so much to do in DA and so many characters and classes to try it's a bit overwelming.
One other reason to sort of wait to start DA:O is their most recent DLC patch has been causing problems with some of the game's features. Doesn't even matter if you purchased the latest DLC, if you download the patch, it can screw some things up in the game. Still once that's resolved, I'd say you could put a serious amount of time into that game.
Which ever you decide, have fun! :D

I'm the only person I know that actually didn't like Darksiders =(
I did like Army of Two the 40th Day, though. I would have felt awful and hated it if I paid $60 for it (I rented it) seeing as my first playthrough on Contractor only took six hours and then another two or so hours on casual to get all the collectibles and choices.
I do agree that the story was a lot worse, but I never played the first game for the story XP. I think the AI was improved in some areas and dumbed in others, but it was still sufficient enough to make it through for me.
I would say go for The Saboteur next after you finish Darksiders, since if you end up liking DA:O, it's gonna be a 60-100 hour addiction.

If you liked Bayonetta, I'd recommend Devil May Cry 3 for PS2 (the PC port is just plain awful, so I'd only recommend it as last resort if you can't play it on PS2).
I beat Mass Effect 2 (my third playthrough), Tales of Symphonia 2, Silent Hill Shattered Memories, and No More Heroes 2 all in one sitting without sleeping. Now I'm playing Super Mario Galaxy, Battlefield Bad Company 2 (PC) Beta, playing through the PoP Sands of Time trilogy (currently on Warrior Within), and, as always, TF2 and BlazBlue

So got my SE copy of Bioshock 2 yesterday. After a friend who got this game early to review it asked me to come play the MP with him before I even touched the SP yet, I haven't played much of the campaign since. :D
I gotta say I was skeptical about MP in Bioshock, but everyone at DE has delivered quite a hit with this. My friend and I likened it to Red Faction's MP in terms of mayhem and chaos but evem more fun than RF:G.
Everyone I've played with so far says they are really enjoying it a lot. I am too. Not sure when I'll actually get to play the single player. Must level more! :D
A few drawbacks that we've found so far are some random system freezes when a match begins or ends. Sometimes even during and if this happens the whole match ends for everyone. Fortunately, you keep what ever Adam and points you scored during the match even if it ends this way. Other than those small issues, it's a great MP experience. A fun one that I really haven't seen for a while now.
If this Bioshock mp binge keeps up, I won't have time to play Dante's Inferno(which I also just picked up) and AVP comes out soon too. Too many good games!

We thought it might be a specific game type, but we've ruled that out since. Anyway, so far these have been the conditions I was in when it happened to me.
Every time we were in an XBL party chat with two or more people.
1.) Game has just ended, party leader returns party to the lobby results in system freeze every 10 or so matches for one or more people. Number of matches varies greatly though.
2.) While in the party lobby, party leader starts a match search which results in system freeze for one or more people.
Pretty much the key factor to all of the freezes I've experience myself or to someone else in the party have been due to returning to the party lobby or starting a new match search from it. The few people I was playing with said they haven't had too much trouble when on their own, but it does happen sometimes then as well.
Also, I'm not sure this really has anything to do with it, but all of the people that were playing in the party at the time had Bioshock 2 installed to their 360 hard drive including myself.
Hope you guys can figure it out. It's not too much trouble right now, but it could get rather irritating if it starts occurring too often. :(

Single player is great....... Multiplayer on the other hand is... hard to explain, it could have been so much better. I like games that require skill and every weapon does require skill in aiming oh wait grenade launcher. Such a disappointment the multiplayer could have been so much better, seems like bad balancing to me.
Am I the only person that sees this problem?

From those I've talked to, this would be the first I've heard any complaints about it.
It's a different kind of multiplayer experience and I like that its not the typical 'all competition no room for fun' play. If I want to play competitively, I'll play Halo 3. This is just out right plain fun.
I think the balancing is fine too. Every weapon has a counter weapon or plasmid strategy. After you level up a bit, it gets a whole lot more interesting, but you don't need to level up to play against others with higher levels. That's the really good part about it. Everyone is equal more or less regardless of level. Anyone can take anyone else out given the right aim and proper strategy.
Anyway, good to hear you like the single player experience, but I have to disagree with you on the multiplayer "could be better" thing. I think it's the most enjoyable multiplayer experience out there right now besides Borderlands. Enjoy playing though. :)
