Assistant Systems Administrator

Main Responsibilities:
- Administer all aspects of the company’s servers, computers, and network infrastructure.
- Management and support of all hardware and software needs.
- Research and recommend efficient economical IT solutions as needs arise.
- Set-up systems for new hires.
- Manage user accounts for internal and external users.
- Implement and maintain a security system/policy.
- Standardize software versions used throughout the company.
- Research software/hardware upgrade strategies.
- Monitor performance issues and propose solutions.
- Work with hardware and software vendors to resolve problems.
- Perform and monitor daily server backup and off-site backup.
- Documentation of all processes including disaster recovery scenarios.
- Network administration, maintenance, and diagnostics.
- Training and supporting staff in using hardware and software efficiently.
- General troubleshooting of any routine technology problems.
- Stay up to date on industry trends.
Qualifications:
- Solid experience with Windows Server administration.
- Linux/Unix familiarity focusing on server administration.
- Thorough knowledge of network switches, routers and firewalls.
- Experience with rack-mount servers, NAS/SAN devices and virtualization technology.
- Superior problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under varying degrees of pressure and uncertainty.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility by embracing change; adapting communication style to setting.
- investigating and implementing alternate approaches to resolve difficult problems.
- Ability to work flexible hours and support night or weekend work as needed.
- Ability to work with highly technical as well as non-technical people who may be unfamiliar with the systems, applications, or processes in use.
- An understanding of A/V equipment such as game consoles, A/V receivers, HDTV's, etc. is helpful.
