Main Responsibilities:
• Realize the overall artistic vision of characters based on designs, concepts and descriptions.
• Design, model, and texture high quality 3D characters, paying close attention to anatomical proportions and physiology.
• Collaborate with Art and Design leads to create technically sound, engaging and memorable characters.
• Work with Art Director to combine ideas and methodologies of character production to create an efficient, streamlined pipeline.
• Mentor and train junior artists.
• Multitask effectively, prioritize competing demands, and follow through on details.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience creating characters for game development.
• A portfolio that demonstrates excellent character modeling and texturing techniques, both high and low poly.
• An exceptional understanding of human and creature anatomy with a keen eye towards form, structure, and silhouette.
• Above average ability to model, texture, and light 3D characters for a state of the art next-gen game engine.
• Excellent understanding of efficient techniques for game production.
• Strong lighting skills and experience creating normal maps and applying shaders.
• Experience with Maya, Photoshop and ZBrush or Mudbox.
• Exemplary oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness and aptitude to learn new techniques and best practices.
• Have a genuine enthusiasm and interest in video games.
Preferred Extras:
• Excellent understanding of efficient techniques for game production.
